garlic press is more trouble than its worth
.................................

i lived in a coop house once
with a bunch of aging new agers and hippies
and they put the damn stuff in every damn dish

black beans and garlic
lentils and garlic
i think we had these things about 6 nights a week
damn birdfood! i got tired of it

but the thing that i never fully accepted was
the use of this gadget called a 'garlic press'
they were always squeezing the little cloves thru
this stupid press
damn technology!

what good is a device which
ends up leaving all the garlic gunk
mushed up in the press?
ya lose half the damn garlic!
and what's more
these presses are an absolute bitch to clean
the garlic gunk always stickin' around

my italian granny never had any of this.
she did her garlic the old fashioned way:
she chopped it, minced it
and i seem to recall her garlic tasting
much better than that of any of these
new age hippy techno geeks who always were
puttin' the damn garlic through a damn press.
