1. Meanwhile,
    the pair sat like Xrays against
    the glowing window. Do you
    come here often he said. The moon
    had heard that one before, and
    leered at them through the scrim
    as it careered over the pallid sea
    and the cringing paddocks.
    The stars winced one by one.

2. Meanwhile
    Jack and Mary folded themselves
    into the window seat - maneuvered for
    their first kiss with all the gumboot grace
    of puppets. Behind the scrim
    the moon wobbled on its strings then shot up
    -a bit too fast- over the pastelled paddocks.
    The stars clicked on one by one.
