Crimson
.................................

Painting with crimson hues
watching the blood-red paint
                            drip
frommybrush
amazingly
strokes create a magnificent rose,
soft full lips, crimson cheeks and hearts.
I watch my mother paint
                           her nails.
I watch the glorious crimson leaves
falling
off our beautiful crimson maple,
in our back yard, in the fall,
and I also watch the sumac,
change, aswellas
                           the apples
that are ripe for picking
I feel the warmth of it,
in my painting of crimson.
