Laid out
on white paper tablecloth
breasts up
like a raw turkey
preparing to be stuffed
sheet maypole wrapped
around spread legs
stainless steel utensils
await the guest of honor
with a flourish
he enters the room
sits down
bellys up to the bar
I peek around
my mayday sheet
and catch him in the act
of yawning
