when i saw my wife
dancing with her three-year-old nephews
and i inhaled the new pregnancies
of her sisters-in-law
eventually inevitably
i knocked her
up

it only took once

she was standing
at the window
moaning for the new life
we were making

passers-by may have
heard the voice of god

i heard something
more mysterious

* xiao pengyou means "little friends"
