fifteen and flirting with my edges carving
mr ed into my arm with a straight pin just
to feel the heat and the pain glow and grow
with each pass of the point

another failure refusing to scar on a body
already decorated in keloid reminders of paper
cuts scraped knuckles stitched together flesh
